Thanksgiving can be so much fun no matter what you do, but I really find enjoyment hanging out with my family and getting to see what they have been up to. This year however, my Rice Krispie Turkey cake broke into two pieces. It made me sad.

The best marketing strategy ever

Tonight I employed chapter 9 – “The Best Marketing Strategy Ever” which is… Care!
I used it in a way that wasn’t even marketing. I went on to my facebook and responded to what people were saying. I let them know I was also interested in what they were doing or understood how they felt. And you know what? It felt good! I feel good. I can’t wait to get up tomorrow, go online and see what every one is doing.
Yeah, I know. I do that everyday. But now i’m going to respond and communicate with everyone not just let them know what i’m doing. After all, it is SOCIAL Networking.

The time to be social has come and I am ready to embrace you with open arms! Err… I mean It, embrace It.

Expanding

I’m thinking of expanding my blog. I would like to be able to add my rants, interesting remarks and anything else I want to express on my blog. I’m not sure if I want to start a new blog or just add to this one. It’s a tough decision I’m grappling with.

1st Rant;

In starting my Phlog, I redirected my domain NotSoOrdinary.com to point here. In doing so, I locked myself out of my control panel! Some days I just don’t pay attention. So here I am in the middle of the night wanted to switch from wordpress.com to hosting my blog on my own domain and I can’t get in! Hopefully, some one will fix it by morning and I can get it set up tomorrow before I leave for the weekend.

If any of my Phlog viewers have any opinions about my decision to add non-photo entries to my blog, please let me know. Either way.

Pomme de Terre

I attended the Pride March in New Paltz a few weeks ago. Unfortunatley, this year I was only able to stay for the Rally before the march as I had to attend the annual meeting of the Hudson-Berkshire division of the USFA. This is a shot of the large group GLSEN (Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network) had on hand to march. Every one had a great time during the rally seeing old friends and making new friends, listening to the wonderful entertainment.

Animals

Why go on safari when you can go to the zoo and get great shots like this. The Bronx Zoo lets these birds roam around freely. I believe this shot was taken near the petting zoo area.
I like to go early, the animals are more likely to be active. Visit all the out door animals early and save indoor exhibits for later in the day when its really hot out.

This was taken at New Paltz Pride 2008. I marched with GLSEN, and was there photographer for the day. This is one of the GLSEN members holding a sign they were going to march with, you can see other GLSEN members also standing around. The Hudson Valley GLSEN highlighted this picture on there website last summer.

I took this in September 2009 at the base of The Statue of Liberty. The lighting seemed nice and it was like the chair was calling out to me.. “take my picture! Take my picture!” so I did.

If you want to take pictures of really bright outragous people who are more then happy to have there picture taken, then you need to get to the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island. This woman was “Marine” Antoinette.

I took this photo back in December of 2009 at the Hudson-Bershire JO Qualifiers, I really love the action going on in this pic. I have another version of this I will post soon, that is B&W and I cropped the dead space on the right making the picture a square.
